I always feel that parents or students own words describe so much more effectively what I do. I continually ask the people I work with for feedback – some below have taken the time to put their own words to the experience of working with me.
It’s very difficult to do justice to Naoise’s work in words, Naoise has an amazing insight into how people’s minds work, she can explain to you why you think the way you do & how to look at things differently when needed. She doesn’t just explain how to build the bridge to get to where you need to be, she stands beside you guiding you every step of the way, she really cares about people & puts her heart & soul into helping them. My daughter was really struggling with anxiety, we were lost & unsure of how to help her when I came across Naoise on the internet & from the moment I spoke to her a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders, being a parent can be a lonely & frightening journey when problems arise, we felt on our own in our search for help, that was until we found Naoise, simply put – she has our backs. I cannot recommend her highly enough, Naoise understands my daughter, she can explain what’s going on & what needs to be done which brings great peace of mind, hope & resolve, get in touch with her, you won’t be sorry.

“I believe that people meet each other for the reason, even being on different continents. On that very moment when we got acquainted with Dr. O’Reilly I had that feeling – I am on the right way. I have tried different ways of bringing up my child by the moment I met Dr.O’Reilly but nobody worked that right and fast. Our family is very gratful to the professional that made the magic happened! She knows what to do and how to help from the very first sight, that is magic!!

Moreover, Dr.O’Reilly is a person with 100% charisma, you will be happy to meet her!” Mother in Asia, May 2020

“Our son was having huge difficulties.
His world was getting smaller and smaller.
Starting secondary school was a nightmare. There was too much change all at once. Our son really struggled and eventually became a school refuser. He was diagnosed with Aspergers, ADD, Anxiety disorder and ODD at age 14.
We heard about Naoise, who came highly recommended through a friend of a friend.
From the very first call with Naoise, I was confident that she could help. She seemed to understand our son, she seemed to get how he worked and that was without meeting him.
We met up within a few days, Naoise chose the perfect place for the meeting. The National Gallery. Everything she does is with great care and attention.
Naoise observed our son carrying out different tasks/ puzzles and activities. She had a lengthy chat with him.
Naoise was able to give suggestions and recommendations straight away to help. She totally got his personality and how he worked.
That was our turning point.
Naoise has opened up a whole new world for us. We have been introduced to amazing teachers that also understand our son and what he needs.
Our son has transformed. His future is so bright and with the help of Naoise he has unlocked so many possibilities and opportunities.
Naoise has a great gift. She understands and cares. She is able to find solutions, she has great vision, warmth and insight.
We will be eternally grateful for her continued help and support.” Irish Mother February 2020.

Naoisé was lovely to work with and helped my daughter understand more about her learning and the way she thinks. It was very helpful to talk through subjects and choices and feel confident about our decisions. Naoisé helped my daughter’s focus and have direction with regard to school subjects and activities. She also helped us take a more holistic approach which is what is important for my daughter’s and should help her achieve her goals. Irish mother, March 2020

Thoughts about Naoise and Homework Club and how it benefitted My son:

Meeting Naoise was a turning point in my son’s life. He was at a point where he was isolated and in despair and seemed trapped, boxed in. Attending the Homework club in a way opened a door, shining light on his abilities and helping him see an outside world where he could belong.

Naoise was brimming with enthusiasm and ideas. Most importantly she inculcated in my son a sense of self-belief and knowledge of his strengths. Without this I very much doubt he would have achieved as much as he has today. He now seems to have a vision for his future and I am amazed at how focused he has become as his sense of achievement has grown.

Attending the Homework club gave my son structure and a sense of purpose as he had largely withdrawn from school. Naoise took immense care in composing groups of students who would learn and develop well together. She also chose teachers with care so they would match the students. She was insightful in detecting the nature of problems in school and was always very willing to discuss progress and give me more insight as regards stress and dyslexia. This was important so that I could support my son as well as possible at home. Naoise was incredibly prescient in relation to what would or wouldn’t work for my son and this was proven time and again in state exam results. What was achieved was beyond all expectations.

I will be forever grateful to Naoise and her team for the invaluable contribution they have made to my son’s life and in the process also mine.

“….We had been looking around for some time to get practical, creative advice and support to assist our son who is in his late teens, on the spectrum and in a mainstream school setting. Naoise came highly recommended to us and has lived up to that expectation in so many ways. Naoise immediately tuned into our son’s needs, came up with really practical advice on how to address social, educational and behavioural issues in a way that emphasised his strengths and built confidence. Naoise provided very insightful feedback initially on strengths and areas to address.

Naoise also recommended some key educational changes which had a tremendously positive impact in terms of integration in school settings and maximising results. As Naoise gets to know her clients, her lead is very valuable, providing flexible ongoing support, remaining in contact and being available as needed for advice. We would highly recommend Naoise and her approach to helping people achieve their potential.”. Irish Family, August 2019

“Thank you so much for the support you have given us with our son since our first meeting in 2015. Your assessment of his abilities and areas to work on were very professional and well in tune with my son’s dyslexia. I found your intuition, level of knowledge and genuine interest in my son both reassuring and optimistic at a time when we were really struggling.
Since working your programme and lessons with your English and Maths teachers, he has achieved the results he wanted in both his Junior and Leaving Cert and was accepted both by the Navy and his first choice in college.
I have to say that you have been an inspiration to us on our journey through secondary school and were always on the end of the phone or email when we had a problem.
It has been a pleasure working with an expert teacher and problem solver. You go that extra mile and my son and I appreciate all your help.” Irish Mother, September 2019.

“My son was diagnosed with ADHD, depression & anxiety disorder at age 12, upon encountering difficulty adapting to school life at secondary level.
He subsequently struggled through school, and eventually dropped out of school in 3rd year.
We were introduced to Dr. Naoisé O’Reilly after several teachers, counsellors and guidance counsellors were unable to help. That set us on a journey that would turn my son’s life around.
On our first meeting with Naoisé, I was instantly won over by her warmth, manner & ability to communicate with him where others had failed.  Over a period of time I could see that he was taking on board different things she said to him about his education , which up until then he “couldn’t care less about”!
Naoisé put in place a panel of wonderful teachers through home education & he eventually took on 6 subjects in the Leaving Cert. He has now gone on to study Music Performance & is the happiest I have seen him in a longtime.  Naoisé showed him that just because you don’t fit in a box & learn the way others do, doesn’t mean you can’t dream & reach your goals. I tell him everyday that his first paycheque is hers!!! ” Irish Mother, November 2018

“To descibre what Naoisé does is impossible but to describe the effect it has on a person is a lot easier. Naoisé builds confidence from the ground. She can help solve problems you could never put your finger on. She is a teacher, a confidante, a source of inspiration and a friend. We are privileged to know her.” Irish Mother, November 2018

“When we first met Naoise, I had no idea of the huge impact she would have on our family, especially my 14 year old son.

Due to Naoisé’s support, my son has become, more confident in himself and in all his school subjects. He understands himself, his personality and others much  better now.

Naoise is so approachable and a master of her vocation. My son relies on her, when the going gets tough. We have so much to be grateful to Naoise for.” Irish Mother, November 2018

“My 12 yr old son is often poorly understood. However, his connection with Naoise was almost instant! She understood him and the way he thinks and learns, in a way where he felt respected and valued. He loved his online sessions with Naoise, and the implementation of her ideas into our everyday routines helped him to achieve  happier, healthier and more balanced days in his school environments. I can’t praise Naoise’s work enough.“ Mother, New Zealand December 2018

“Thank you Naoise for your ongoing support. Your analysis is spot on. Our daughter loves the audio work you suggested. An exercise she wants to do. She’s really taken to it. Focussed listening. And that in today’s worlds of kids playing with smartphones, social media, and YouTube etc.”

Working with Naoisé was extremely helpful in my preparation to commence a college degree. Naoisé was able to help me identify what style of learning suited me best, how to approach assignments and projects and how to get some balance in a day to day routine. Along with this Naoisé was also very helpful in giving me suggestions on different resources/technology I should
avail of while studying to help with a variety of tasks such as note taking and studying.

“I met Naoisé O’Reilly when my special needs son was due to sit English exam within a month and when his teachers were predicting that he will  fail. Over 4 sessions, Naoisé gave my son visual clues, rules, and  templates how to approach a writing task, what to look for, and how to  proceed. It was actually rather simple, but it worked well. My son passed the exam without difficulties. Since then, Naoisé has still been interested in my son’s progress. I am confident that I can approach her with any educational problem that my son faces and that she would give advice on practical points that might otherwise be overlooked. She is patient, caring, and understands autism related problems well. ” U.K. Mother, November 2017

“I contacted Naoise 5 years ago. My son has Aspergers and the issues associated with this meant that his concentration levels were poor and this was reflected in exam results. He was very bright but had difficulty in engaging with his teachers. Naoise was a light at the end of the tunnel in that she recognised immediately that my son had potential and she reassured us that she could help him.  My son worked with both Naoise and a member of her team over this time. The change in my son both academically and as importantly, socially, was marked. My son successfully completed his Leaving Cert and has been offered a place in 3rd level education. His confidence in himself is wonderful. I would have no hesitation in recommending Naoise and her Team. They made the difference!” Irish Parent, September 2017

“My daughter has been seeing Naoisé now for the past two years. She has a fantastic way of interacting with people. My daughter took an instant liking to her. “Dr. Naoisé O’Reilly came to us at a time when our child was feeling overwhelmed and anxious due to school. In an attempt to find solutions, I reached out in the worldwide web and was very surprised to find out how many parents and children were experiencing what we were enduring through Dr. Naoisé’s website.  It was then, that I decided to reach out and pour my soul. When I was done, I came to realize how desperate, overwhelmed and hopeful our entire family was. I could only hope to get a reply from Dr. Naoisé, at times I thought I was too hopeful. Dr. Naoisé contacted us shortly. It has been an incredible experience, she worked with myself and of course with my child and helped get over the obstacles at the time. Dr. Naoisé worked with us accommodating different time zones, she is an excellent listener and a resourceful person, she helped restore our family and we are happy to watch our child graduate and move on to the next step in life, college. Our child is smiling again and appreciating life with skills given by Dr. Naoisé, thank you, Dr. Naoisé O’Reilly!! Mother, U.S.A. May 2017

“I contacted Naoise because my son was having difficulty with his attention and focus in school.  From the start I felt Naoise was on his side.  She is highly respectful and really knows how the childs mind operates.  I never felt like she was just ticking boxes but can really see how things are from their perspective.  Her passion is undeniable and she is such a support. She gave me practical and really inspirational ways to help him at home.  I would recommend her without question to anyone having difficulties with their child.”  Irish Mother, December 2016

As a Mum of two dyslexic teenagers I had the good fortune to meet Naoisé in 2014. Initially it was a relief for my children to meet someone who ‘got them’ and didn’t think of them as ‘stupid’ but recognised them for the smart wonderful people they are.  The support and positive encouragement from Naoisé and her team has made a huge difference to their lives. My daughter struggled everyday with teachers that just didn’t understand her, telling her she didn’t have the brains for certain subjects or was just not smart enough. With the help of Naoisé and her team she has come to realise that it is the system and some of the teachers in it that is the problem not her. She is a bright smart girl that just thinks differently and can achieve her goals in life with the help of people like Naoisé and the team of positive people around her.  I know as we head into Leaving Cert  next year the support of Naoisé will be invaluable and without that the damage that some teachers do would be irreversible.  Thank you Naoisé

“Our Son had no major problems in Primary School, he was happy and relaxed. His school work was excellent.Joined school committees and acted as a mentor for younger pupils. However all this changed when he started Secondary School. The first year wasn’t too bad and as he is our youngest we knew there would be a transition period. At the start of second year, he developed migraines and would be physically sick most mornings. His Doctor put it down to hormones. He tired CBT, Bio-energy, kinesiology. Eventually he was put on anti-depressants and started counselling. Nothing seemed to work. The school he attended was very supportive but he just couldn’t go through the door. There was no issue with any one teacher or pupil. He could not explain why he felt the way he did. Things came to a head early in 2015 and I contacted a relative of mine for advise, as he had been IN THE SYSTEM for almost a year and nothing was changing, in fact it was getting much worse. She referred us to a family counsellor. He asked us how long had our Son been diagnosed with Asperger’s. This was a huge shock as no one had mentioned anything like this to us, in over two years of visiting doctors, attending physiatrists & counsellors. Our Son was diagnosed a month later and we thought, at last we now can move forward. While his school was extremely understanding there was nothing they could do.  We had no option but to take him out of school. Everyone was very understanding but no one could offer us any suggestions regarding his education. One day while reading information on the Autism Ireland website I saw details for the Purple Learning project and the Homework Club. After reading up on it I contacted Dr Naoisé and we arranged a meeting.
At Our first meeting with Dr Naoisé, she assessed Our Son by asking a series of questions and getting him to do different puzzles. The meeting took about an hour. In that time She was able to determine what subjects He would enjoy and excel at.  She recommend two teachers who would start working with him online. Doing Maths and History. This proved so effective that we increased the classes to include more subjects. Within four months of starting the programme he was off his anti-depressants and signed off from the Physiatrist. He has just finished his first school year, working at home with teachers recommended by Dr Naoisé. The difference in him is amazing,he is once again happy and relaxed. He loves the lessons, there is very little homework but he does research and reads any material that is recommended. He is already talking about what college he’d like to attend. He has two years until His Leaving Certificate. Dr Naoisé keeps in regular contact and is always on hand to answer any queries etc. Without a doubt this programme has changed our Son’s life. I did worry that with him not attending a regular school he would miss out on other things, like friends, etc. But this has not been the case, he is in regular contact with his friends and he has even started back at his favourite pastime, Soccer. I don’t know if he will ever attend main stream secondary school again, it no longer is an issue. Having him educated in a way that he thrives in, is all you want as a parent and we have found a way to give him that, with the help of Dr Naoisé and Her team.”

‘Working with Naoisé is an excellent experience as she found work place with me with ‘Cash Guard’. She understand with a person with Dyslexia, like knows where I coming from. She is a person that try’s to tailor my needs thatI found difficult in a certain subject. But over all Dr. Naoisé is an excellent person to meet and hope dose well in the future – Kevin Keyes”, I have worked with Kevin since 2009 and I am so proud of his achievements!, Naoisé (May 2016)

“Naoisé became exactly what I needed at a very difficult juncture in my academic career. Highly recommend her support for anyone seeking well-rounded mentoring for any change or project whether personal or professional.”

‘I was really impressed from the outset, when after a 45 minute conversation with me Naoise really seemed to have a good understanding of my son and what his issues were. It was the first time I felt that anyone had really ‘got’ him.
Naoise and I were then unsure whether he would engage with her but he did his best and said he was keen to work with her and I think that although he couldn’t really express it, he also recognised her as someone who understood him.
It’s been explained to him that whilst he’ll be reminded to do his ‘stuff for Naoise’ nobody will actually be making him do it, and that the whole point of it is to motivate him to start taking responsibility for his own decisions, etc.
He doesn’t complete them every day but he does them about 4x a week.
This a young man who seems to lack any motivation for anything beyond watching TV or playing on his play station, who has little idea of what he wants to do with his life, little pride in himself, shies away from new experiences, avoids crowds and loud music etc.
Since starting work with Naoise, my son has asked if he could have his hair dyed (his fringe is now bright red!), having resolutely refused in the 3 years he’s been at his current school to take part in any weekend activities he’s now decided to stay in and go to the local Music Festival and join in with the camping weekend. He’s also showing some interest in clothes.
Whilst I can never be certain with any therapies, programmes, etc how much is to do with maturation and how much is due to the intervention, the suddenness of the changes and the number of them make me think that Naoise clearly has a very special talent for engaging young people in their own development.  I don’t know how she does it but it’s the outcome that I’m interested in.’

“Hi Naoisé,

Please find a few lines below.  I just had a meeting with my daughter’s teacher and school special needs co-ordinator.  They are astounded at her progress and her confidence and restedness inside.

Thank you so much,

Much love,

Her mother.

Six months ago I was a very distressed mother having just discovered that my 10 year daughter was virtually illiterate.  She attends a Steiner school and because they progress more slowly in main subjects such as english and maths and focus a lot on creative work such as music and art, her dyslexia went unnoticed.

When it began to dawn on me I was shocked because she is so bright and I didn’t really know which way to turn.  The New Zealand system of support for Dyslexia was very complicated and she would have to under go days of intense examinations.

And then I did know which way to turn – thankfully I knew Dr. Naoisé O Reilly, who had helped our business make a huge shift the year before.  I contacted Naoisé and her support has changed our lives.

Naoisé spent an hour with my daughter over Skype and I knew instantly that she understood her and her unique way of learning that did not fit into mainstream learning. This was the biggest relief.  And our journey began.  It all seemed quite simple what Naoisé sent to us to focus on.  Simple word games, exercises, fun things, writing projects. Just a little most evenings.  And then after six months – whoosh all the pieces of the puzzle game together.  The building blocks Naoisé had been providing connected and my daughter took an enormous leap forward in her reading and spelling.  It is a continual journey where there is no longer concern but the knowing that it is a unique journey for her, and she is being supported by an amazing individual, Naoisé, who not only understands and can see through her eyes, but can provide the tools to navigate the way to a full and rich life of learning and discovery for her. I am so so so grateful.  Thank you Naoisé.”

“Dr O’Reilly was as healing balm to a weeping wound, understanding me as though shining a torch around the inner recesses of my mind. If, like me, you’ve always felt a misfit, you’ll appreciate how being understood is such a relief. Whatever ‘s holding you back, this lady will open your personal gate using her ground-breaking techniques. How do I know? Dr Naoise O’Reilly set me free.”

“My 5 year old son started school and almost immediately seemed to lose his natural love of learning that I’d admired since he was a baby. He was keeping up with his classmates but he had little interest in schoolwork and detested homework. Within 6 days of following Naoisé’s practical and mostly very simple steps, he was voluntarily writing words phonetically and his desire to read was re-ignited. Now, he’s not only back to the curious, funny, creative little guy he was but he is happier in himself which means our home, in general, is peaceful.”

Dr. Naoise O’Reilly has worked with my son who has Asperger’s Syndrome. She has provided career development advice and abundant support to help him reach his potential.

Naoise is intuitive, inspirational, encouraging, pragmatic and highly knowledgeable. She instinctively understands the challenges that a person with AS encounters and the way they perceive and process the world they inhabit. And yet she manages to provide practical and attainable solutions to, what at times, can appear insurmountable issues.

In a world that can seem completely at odds with him, she provides a clear and practical path to navigate around and over the challenges he encounters. He trusts her completely and highly respects her. This is not easily achieved with an individual with AS and is perhaps the greatest indication of Naoise’s ability. She is truly a remarkable lady and we thank our good fortune that she was recommended to us.
